  3. <hi style=afpcap>A Boeing KC-135R Stratotanker of the 366th Wing, Mountain Home AFB, Idaho, a.k.a. the "Gunfighters," plows through the air attired in a dark camouflage scheme which is gradually being replaced by gray. The CFM56 engines which power the "re-engined" KC-135R are very large, but their size is exaggerated by the camera lens in this portrait. The original J57 engines on earlier Stratotankers made the aircraft somewhat under-powered for takeoff from high, hot locations.</hi>
